Tteokbokki Recipe

Tteokbokki or dukkbokki is a famous Korean dish. For those who always go to Korean restaurants will be familiar with tteokbokki. The delicious rice cakes with gochujang sauce tastes excellent. However, during lockdown it is unsafe to go out and who would risk their lives for food. In your free time rather than ordering online you can cook tteokbokki by yourself. It is very easy to cook as you need very minimal amount of ingredients. 

This recipe is for beginners. You can add ingredients like chicken, mutton, beef, cheese or anything you want.

First of all prepare the ingredients

1.Rice cakes (tteok) - You can buy it in supermarkets. It is available in many places or checkout the link learn how to cook tteok

2. 3/4 cup of water

3. Gochujang

4.Sugar

5.Soy Sauce

6.Fish cake (optional)

7. Sesame seeds (optional)

Steps:

1. Add water, sugar and Gochujang inside pan. You can add sugar according to your preference. If you have high spice tolerance you can add less teaspoon of sugar. Meanwhile for Gochujang, a table spoon will be enough. Once you have add the three ingredients in the pan heat it up.

2. Stir it until it boils.

3. Add rice cakes (tteok), fish cakes and soy sauce.

4. Mix it well. Let the rice cakes (tteok) absorb the flavour of gochujang.

5. Add sesame seeds.

Thats it! Tteokbokki is ready! You can add egg and vegetables.
